Novice/Refining Our Curling Knowledge and Skills (ROCKS) -Fall
October to December -Developmental Program for New AND Experienced curlers
Monday evenings -Start times will rotate between 6:00pm and 8:15pm
The ROCKS (Refining Our Curling Knowledge and Skills) Program is a 10-week development-focused curling program offered in both Fall and Winter sessions. Designed as a natural next step from Learn to Curl programs, or as an re-entry point if you have been away from the game, ROCKS emphasizes continuous skill-building, game understanding, and confidence on the ice. While tailored primarily for newer curlers, the ROCKS Program also welcomes players of any level who wish to refresh or refine their skills and build their game fundamentals in a supportive, coached environment.
Each week, curlers will benefit from on-ice instruction by experienced coaches and mentors. The program begins with a strong emphasis on technical skill development—delivery, sweeping, and communication—before progressively transitioning toward game play, strategy, and team dynamics. Each session includes instruction on some aspect and game play.
Participants will:
- Play all positions to develop versatility and awareness
- Learn to read the ice and make strategic decisions
- Engage in realistic game scenarios and coached games
- Explore the increasingly popular Doubles format
- Receive guidance and support on transitioning into league play
- By the end of the session, curlers will have developed a stronger technical foundation, greater strategic understanding, and the confidence to join regular club leagues or competitive play.
You are welcome to enroll in the novice program for more than one session.
